		<description>The restart is required because Windows Explorer cannot load the new TortoiseSVN shell extensions until it is restarted... which only happens when you log off or shut down/restart.

Most of the time when you need to restart, you can just process kill and restart explorer.

Unless the program you're installing is RUNNING when you upgraded it, then the installer will usually add boot-time instructions to the registry to upgrade the app when you reboot.  Usually solved by NOT running said program during an upgrade. :)</description>

		<description>Thanks for sharing the pre 1.5 version overlay icons, I had exactly the same experience as you. The new icons are blurry and harder to read. 

Btw, instead of restarting Windows after selecting the new icons, just restart explorer.exe with taskmanager. Worked for me!</description>
